Clipzing MCP server

Video clipping for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code and any MCP client.

Clipzing runs a hosted MCP server at https://clipzing.com/api/v1/mcp. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, sign in to Clipzing once (OAuth, no API key), and your assistant can use 32 tools on your clip library: find and review clips, rewrite titles, change caption styles, add B-roll, schedule and publish. It asks your approval before anything that publishes, deletes or uses your monthly allowance.

Set it up in your assistant

  • Claude: In claude.ai, add Clipzing as a custom connector by pasting the connector address; Claude then asks you to sign in to Clipzing and choose what it may do. The desktop app can use the same connector, or run a small local program instead.
  • ChatGPT: In ChatGPT on the web, turn on developer mode in settings and add Clipzing by its connector address, choosing OAuth when asked how to sign in. You then sign in to Clipzing and choose what ChatGPT may do.
  • Cursor: Cursor runs a small Clipzing program on your computer. Add it to Cursor’s MCP configuration, reload, and approve the connection in your browser the first time it starts.
  • Claude Code: Run one command to add the Clipzing server, start a new session, and approve the connection in your browser the first time.

Exact menus and file paths for every app and operating system are in the setup guide.

The 32 tools

Read (19)

Looks at your library and at public YouTube. Changes nothing and costs nothing.

  • list_clips: Lists your clips, newest first, with title, length and virality score. Can filter by text in the title or description.
  • get_clip_context: Returns everything known about one clip: its source video, timing, caption style and current state.
  • get_clip_transcript_context: Returns the transcript inside a clip and just before and after it, with timestamps.
  • get_clip_frames: Returns still frames from a clip at the moments you ask for, so the assistant can see it.
  • watch_clip: Samples frames across a whole clip, for a visual review from start to finish.
  • critique_clip: Reviews a clip like an editor would: hook, pacing, captions, framing and length, with timestamps.
  • get_emphasis_map: Shows which words in a clip’s captions are emphasised and why.
  • get_insights: Returns what Clipzing knows about how your clips have performed.

  • get_broll_preview: Shows the footage proposed for a clip before anything is rendered.
  • search_youtube: Searches public YouTube videos, for finding a video to clip.
  • verify_youtube_video: Checks a YouTube video’s title, channel and length before a job is created from it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Clipzing MCP server address?

https://clipzing.com/api/v1/mcp. It is a remote (hosted) MCP server that signs you in with OAuth, so there is no API key to copy.

Which plans include the MCP server?

Every plan. On Starter an assistant can read your library and edit the words on your clips (titles, descriptions, hashtags); rendering and publishing through an assistant need Creator or Agency. There is no free plan.

Can an assistant post without asking me?

No. Anything that publishes, deletes or uses your monthly allowance is shown to you for approval first, and you choose which permissions the assistant gets when you connect.

Does it work in ChatGPT?

Yes. In ChatGPT on the web, turn on developer mode in settings, add Clipzing by its connector address and choose OAuth when asked how to sign in.

Can I use it from my own agent or code?

Yes. Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth can connect. The setup guide has tested code for building your own agent.
