Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Clipzing (“Clipzing,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your information when you use clipzing.com and related services (the “Service”). Clipzing turns long-form videos into short, vertical clips and can publish those clips to social platforms you choose to connect, including YouTube and TikTok.
By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and basic profile details so you can log in and manage your account.
- Content you provide. Video URLs you submit, media you upload, and the clips, captions, and settings you create in the editor.
- Connected-account data (YouTube / Google). If you connect a YouTube account, we access and store a limited set of data through Google APIs — described in detail in Section 4.
- Connected-account data (TikTok). If you connect a TikTok account, we access and store a limited set of data through the TikTok API — described in detail in Section 5.
- Billing information. If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your payment details. We do not store full card numbers.
- Usage and device data. Standard log data such as IP address, browser type, and interactions with the Service, used for security, debugging, and analytics.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service and generate your clips.
- To publish clips to a connected account when you explicitly choose to do so.
- To process subscriptions, billing, and credits.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and service changes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. YouTube & Google API Services
Clipzing uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
What we access, and why:
- Channel information (via the
youtube.readonlyscope) — your channel ID, name, and handle. We use this only to display which channel you have connected and to attribute uploads to the correct channel. - Video upload (via the
youtube.uploadscope) — used solely to upload a clip to your channel when you initiate that upload from Clipzing. We never upload, modify, or delete content without your explicit action. - Channel analytics (via the
yt-analytics.readonlyscope) — performance statistics for your own channel and videos: views, minutes watched, average view duration and percentage, audience-retention curves, subscribers gained and lost, traffic sources, devices, and aggregated audience demographics (age ranges, gender, and country). This is read-only. We use it solely to show you how your clips perform, inside your Clipzing dashboard, so you can tell which clips hold viewers. We never write to, or modify, your analytics.
What we store:
- Your YouTube channel ID, channel name/handle, and display name.
- OAuth access and refresh tokens, which are encrypted at rest and used only to make the API calls described above on your behalf.
- Analytics responses are held in a short-lived cache for up to 6 hours so your dashboard loads quickly without repeatedly querying YouTube. We do not build a long-term archive of your analytics, and the cache is discarded when you disconnect your channel.
We do not collect your Google account password, your Gmail or contacts, your subscriber list, or your personal watch history, and we do not share your Google user data with any third party except as required to operate the actions you request. The analytics we read cover your own channel only — we cannot and do not access analytics for any channel you do not own.
Limited Use Disclosure
Clipzing’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access:
You can disconnect your YouTube account inside Clipzing at any time, which deletes the stored tokens. You can also revoke Clipzing’s access directly from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
5. TikTok API Services
Clipzing uses the TikTok API. By connecting your TikTok account you also agree to TikTok’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You choose which permissions to grant on TikTok’s consent screen, and Clipzing works with whatever subset you approve.
What we access, and why:
- Basic profile (via the
user.info.basicanduser.info.profilescopes) — your TikTok open ID, display name, username, avatar and verification status. Used only to show which account you have connected and to attribute posts to it. - Profile statistics (via the
user.info.statsscope) — your follower, following, likes and video counts, shown in your Clipzing dashboard. - Your own videos (via the
video.listscope) — the public details and counters of videos on your own account: title, description, duration, cover image, share link, and view, like, comment and share counts. This is read-only, and we use it solely to show you how your posts perform. We cannot access any other creator’s videos. - Sending clips to your drafts (via the
video.uploadscope) — sends a clip you selected to your TikTok inbox as a draft. You then write the caption, choose who can see it, and post it inside the TikTok app.
Clipzing does not request TikTok’s video.publish permission and cannot post to your TikTok profile. Nothing reaches your profile unless you publish it yourself from the TikTok app.
What we store:
- Your TikTok open ID, username and display name.
- OAuth access and refresh tokens, which are encrypted at rest and used only to make the API calls described above on your behalf.
- Video responses are held in a short-lived cache for up to 6 hours so your dashboard loads quickly. We do not build a long-term archive, and the cache is discarded when you disconnect.
TikTok does not provide third-party applications with audience retention, traffic sources, demographics or impression data, and Clipzing therefore does not receive or display any of it. We do not access your direct messages, your following list, or videos belonging to anyone else.
Revoking access:
You can disconnect your TikTok account inside Clipzing at any time, which revokes the token with TikTok and deletes our stored copy. You can also remove Clipzing from within the TikTok app under Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you disconnect a connected account, the associated OAuth tokens are deleted. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by disconnecting integrations in-app and emailing us at support@clipzing.com. We will delete your data unless we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of OAuth tokens at rest and encrypted connections (HTTPS) in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Clipzing operates the Service and may process and store data in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to those locations, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at support@clipzing.com.
