Use Clipzing With Claude: Edit Clips by Asking

Connects through a hosted address · sign in to approve · no API key

Connect your Clipzing account to Claude and your clip library becomes something you can talk to. Ask Claude which clips are worth posting, have it rewrite ten titles in one style, add B-roll to a clip or schedule a week of Shorts. Claude can look at frames from a clip, so it reviews what is on screen, not only the transcript.

What to ask Claude

  • Which of my last ten clips would you post first, and why?
  • Look at frames from that clip at 0:05 and 0:20. Do the captions cover his face?
  • Rewrite the titles of my five newest clips as questions, under 60 characters.
  • Add B-roll to the clip about the factory tour, but show me the footage first.
  • Schedule my three highest-scoring clips to YouTube across next week.

How to connect

In claude.ai, add Clipzing as a custom connector by pasting the connector address; Claude then asks you to sign in to Clipzing and choose what it may do. The desktop app can use the same connector, or run a small local program instead.

Claude (browser)
Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste https://clipzing.com/api/v1/mcp
Claude Desktop
Settings → Developer → Edit Config

The setup guide walks through every step, with the checks to run if it does not appear.

What to know before you start

  • Claude acts only within the permissions you approve when connecting. Read, edit, render and publish are granted separately; on the Starter plan only read and edit are available.
  • Starting a new clip job, publishing, scheduling, a batch restyle and deleting a clip each stop and show you a summary to approve.
  • Posts go to YouTube. TikTok receives drafts, and cannot be scheduled.

The full list is on the tool reference.

Questions

Do I need an API key?

No. You approve the connection in your browser while signed in to Clipzing. There is nothing to copy or paste into a settings file for the hosted connector.

Can Claude see my videos?

It can request still frames from a clip and read its transcript, which is how it reviews framing and captions. It works on the clips in your Clipzing library, not on files on your computer.

Does it work on a free Claude plan?

Custom connectors depend on the Claude plan you are on. Check Claude’s current connector availability for your plan; the Clipzing side works the same either way.
