Frequently asked questions
Are my subtitle files uploaded to your server?
No. Parsing, conversion, and the timing shift all happen in your browser with plain JavaScript. Nothing is sent to Clipzing.com.
Does it keep styling and positioning tags?
Cue text passes through untouched, so basic tags like <i> or <b> survive. VTT cue settings (position, align) and STYLE blocks get dropped since SRT has no equivalent for them. What you get out is clean and works everywhere.
Why are my captions out of sync in the first place?
Usually the video got trimmed after the subtitles were generated. Cut 3 seconds off the front and every caption shows up 3 seconds late. One negative shift of the same amount fixes the whole file.
