Why does Instagram cut off my Reels cover?
The profile grid uses 3:4 tiles but Reels covers are 9:16, so Instagram center-crops. Roughly the top and bottom sixth of your cover just isn't visible in the grid. Keep titles and faces in the middle band and they survive.
Is the preview pixel-exact?
It's a close approximation of the current grid layouts at a typical phone width. Platforms tweak tile sizes between app versions, but the crop ratios (3:4 grids, 9:16 shelf) have stayed stable, and the crops are what cut your text off.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
