Frequently asked questions
Why does the visible part matter more than the limit?
Because almost nobody taps …more. If your hook or your CTA sits after the fold, it basically doesn't exist. Put the one sentence people must read first, and the hashtags last.
How are emoji counted?
The tool counts Unicode code points, which matches how platforms count most emoji (one character each). A few complex ones like flags, skin tones and family emoji are internally several code points, and platforms disagree on how to count those. Leave a small buffer if you're near the limit.
Is my caption sent anywhere?
No. Counting happens as you type, in your browser. Nothing gets stored or sent anywhere.
